Synopsis
Brightvade is a bit different in that it’s technically three separate projects but they all exist under the same header. Each story spans a different time period and they all connect together. I keep them labeled as “Brightvade” since they all take part in the same world, but maybe in the future I might decide to separate them into individual projects. Who knows?
Wanderers From Brightvade
Growing up in a tiny farming town, Farina was one of the few people who knew how to wield a weapon after being adopted by a retired soldier. She never minded life being a bit on the slow side and she knew many of the residents depended on her for protection; especially as war continues with a neighboring country, weakening the forces that usually secure the small towns from bandits and beasts and making it difficult to trade. One day she rescues an odd mage named Desacinu, who claims to be on an expedition to an ancient shrine nearby. Impressed by her ability, he offers her a job to escort him back to the city, as well as a permanent position as an escort for future research expeditions. Farina is hesitant to leave, but knows the money would be useful for sending back to keep the town on its feet — so she finally agrees.
Farina and Desa travel to the faraway city of Girival where she meets Charles, the eccentric leader of the royal research branch in the city, as well as one of the few immortals originating from The Desecration of Teartress. Farina realizes that she might be a little in over her head, an although she is only meant to work as a guard, finds herself questioning what exactly the research being done is for, and if it’s truly wise to allow someone like Charles freedom to potentially commit another unthinkable disaster.

Playlist
This is just a playlist I put together that can help inspire me when I’m working on the story. I choose songs based on if they suit characters, places, themes, or just general feelings that go along with it. I know it’s not super specific, but it’s not like it has to be, since it just works for me!
